地下有长而横走的根状茎；叶2枚，近对生；叶片扇形，具辐射状脉；花单朵；合萼片存在；唇瓣下垂，囊口位于前方，不具明显的内折侧裂片；退化雄蕊扁平。
本组模式种：Cypripedium japonicum Thunb.
共2种，分布于中国和日本。我国均产之。
